Santa Worm Hits Messaging Networks
The new worm only infects IM (Instant Messaging) but it's a good reminder to always practice "safe computing":
Don't open attachments sent by friends without first running a virus checker on it.
Keep your system up to date, particularly virus and spam programs.
Don't click on links in email, instead, type the URL manually, which will keep you safer from phishing.
When online, always be suspicious......remember the old adage: just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that someone's not watching you.
The IM.GiftCom.All worm has made an appearance on several messaging networks, including America Online, Microsoft MSN, and Yahoo.
